Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between white and golden marzipan?
Both contain the same amount of almonds (25%) and have the same texture. The golden version gets its colour from a natural colourant, lutein, for a warm appearance especially suited to Christmas or autumn decorations.
Can a cake be covered only with marzipan, without fondant afterwards?
Yes, this is the traditional British Christmas cake method: cover the cake with marzipan, leave it to dry for 24 to 48 hours, then ice or cover it with fondant for a smooth finish.
Is this marzipan the same as Renshaw modelling paste?
No. Marzipan is an almond-based preparation intended for flavour, covering and filling. Modelling paste is a sweet paste with a hardening agent, designed for figurines and fine details.
